Husky 55 45mm piston

I was able to pick up an almost mint 1998 55 with a scored piston. The cylinder looks like it can be saved. I have searched around for a 45mm piston and was surprised to find out they are unavailable. There was some talk on AS about possibly substituting an Jonsered piston but most of the threads died out a while ago.
Does anyone know of a source or substitute for this piston? Thanks!

 

You can use a piston out of a open port 45mm husky, like a husky 51. There are two ways to make it work.

Thanks Stihl bro, I believe mine has a closed port windowed piston. I'll get some pics of it.

 

You can use the open port piston but will need to do some work on the bottom cylinder.

 

Open port piston in place.

 

The bottom of your cylinder should look like this.

 

Use the base gasket and mark the area to remove. Make it look like this.
