image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Cut up a hung up cherry yesterday. Was pretty interesting getting it down. Was the first time I've ever attempted todo that as usually just wait for them to fall. I was in an area that will be to thick to walk into in about another week or so.

No stuck saws. It's a good thing I only have the one. Was worried about that but luck was finally on my side. Still have another full load to get. Was planning on going today but sick daughter is keeping me home.

I picked up a couple cherry that were about 24" in diam a few years ago and those splits were ready in November of the same year.

Good you got that down Tony. I really don't mind taking those down and sort of have fun with them.

Best fix that one stack of wood by the fence as it looks ready to go down.

Don't feel bad, today I stuck the saw once felling a weirdly balanced tree, and had 2 tree's hang up. All of this just to add sunlight to the garden, the wood is junk Basswood and already in the burnpile. I'm glad for the tractor & winch!

Insurance policy against getting saws stuck: a pouch of wedges on your person, and you using those wedges. Just "palming" one in a kerf keeps it from closing on you,

There won't be any issue with drying it since you have it all split and stacked. We had a widow maker cherry that my buddy and I cut in late fall, he split and stacked it right away, and it was ready by mid winter.

Let it sit all summer and you'll have nice firewood for next fall.

    Good work!
