Anybody familiar with these units? Humidex Standard Basement Unit (DVS-BS-Hdex) Basement Dehumidifier - Why Humidex is a Good Alternative We struggle to keep the indoor humidity below 50% in the winter even with running a dehumidifier on the main level and having a HPWH in the basement. I think its a combination of new "tight" construction, Mrs DG's obsession with house plants and ~275lbs of Hound dog breathing in the house all day. I stumbled across these Humidex machines in my search for an alternative to controlling indoor humidity, they seem like snake oil to me. I fail to see how these things are anything more than an overpriced power vent that sucks air from the basement floor to be replaced by outside air being sucked in but maybe I'm missing something?
Ditto, pumps warm moist air it will be replaced “ through doors windows and cracks”. Outside air which has less moisture maybe in winter?? What about other 4 month of yesr
