I have about 5-6 true cords stacked and under cover, and need to move about that much more into my winter shelter. Stacking is my least favorite activity, but I keep large piles under cover for a year or two before they hit the final stacking. Just seeing where everyone is at since the burn season is upon us.
I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 6 cords in the shed for this winter. Normal use is about 5, but as usual, I'm hoping we use less.
Have 12 cord stacked under cover but only 4 of that is for this season. Last year used 3 hope this year goes the same. Most of the 12 is good to go now so not worried if we need to use more.
Well, we do have plenty of wood on hand for the 2016-20107 burning season, and the next, and the next, etc, etc. I do still need to move some into the barn before the snow flies and that will be done soon but there will still be plenty left over.
about 6 cords ready to go ,blue tarp pine, brown tarp maple ,green tarp ash and a bit of hurricane sandy oak in another spot
I haven't done a very good job of keeping track. I'm guessing I have enough that to make it through February right now. I've been focusing on trying to get on the famous 3 year plan and get ahead for once. I will spend the next two months scrounging for 16-17 and slowly adding to the 3 year plan.
Well my efforts have not yielded what I hopped. Split firewood: 1/8th of a cord. :-(. Need to purchase 1 cord of seasoned locally. Logs: 3 cord of logs sitting on the ground waiting to be processed. Envi-8 bricks: 3/4 of a top of Envi-8 bricks in the house. Going to pickup 1 ton of Envi-8 bricks by the end of October. Another ton at the end of November.
I've got plenty of wood but haven't figured out yet what I want to put in the on-deck circle. Probably some lighter wood to start the season, like Cherry, soft Maple and a little White Ash. But on my main stacks I need to get the cover situation in hand. Some are uncovered, some have marginal covers. Need to pick up some metal or rubber roofing that won't cost too much...
Almost 30 cords stacked at the moment. Of that, about 6-7 is set aside for this winter, meaning it's been stacked for 4 years. Another 10 or so could be burned with fairly good results but I'd like to give that more time. I have about a dozen cords that I've cut in the last 2 years that I wouldn't want to burn now but would if I had to.
I got almost two cord in the garage ready to go and more on the covered entry which is all I will burn...I have another 7 or better cord seasoning and if I run out there is 2 year seasoned stuff ready to go....
With the mild winter last year I only used 3.5 cord compared to a typical 5 cord winter. As of now I'm on track with the 3 yr plan, I have 15 cord stacked and seasoned. My covered porch will hold 3 cord and I have an open porch that will fit 1/2 cord. From the stacks in the backyard I bring the splits up and stack them on the porches for convenience. I can easily go out in my slippers and retrieve wood at anytime and not have to work hard for it.
I have about 4 cords ready to go and another 3 more for next year or this year if I had to burn it. Hope the winter is like last year but you know what mother nature has in store
I've got 3.5 cord stacked and ready to be moved to my shed for winter. Still working towards my 3 year plan have probably 10 cord in logs lots to this fall/winter. And I don't want to forget just over 2 cord of maple syrup firewood for the 17 season!
I have at least 20 cords that would be just fine for this year but I'll likely burn around 4. I have about 3 that needs split yet and I'm getting the itch to cut and haul some home.
I have about 8 cord under cover. 6 in the main wood shed and 1+ in my emergency stash, make-shift shed. In a couple weeks I'll be moving about half a cord into the garage.
