How Do I Freshen Up Dads Husky 257

So I snagged Dads old Husqvarna 257 today .. As i go through it every once in a while whether he likes it or not
This saw spends all its time outside on his Kubota Rtv... So it looks bad. But... Starts and runs better than any of my clean saws !
Anyway.... Im gonna go through and clean and scrub like i do to all my saws. Ill take off the muffler and paint it with high temp... And check everything out. What i dont know about.... Is there any way to freshen up the top cover plastic ? I usually just use wd40 it... But it doesnt ever last too long. Any suggestions would be helpful
