On my way to the job this morning and my FHC peripheral vision caught a fresh cut pile of honey locust. Anther case of FHC whiplash. I quickly turn around to investigate and know the owner of the tree service that did the work. I give him a call and the homeowner is keeping the wood....DANG!!! Nice stuff too. Not like it was black locust so no big loss, right? Maybe you could talk the homeowner out of it. Trade for some highly valuable popular or something.

I recently played firewood jenga with my honey locust splits. Them things sure are retaining their weight! Much more than the dead standing chestnut oak I’ve gotten used to. Unfortunately it’ll be a few years before I get to it.
Do a lot of people in your area keep the wood from their removals?

    Its heavy stuff for sure.

Dont know if a lot of folks do or not. Next time i talk to that tree guy ill ask.

Ive had some good scores where they kept the logs and tree guys chipped the limbs/brush. Cheaper if they dont have to haul it away. Homeowner posts on FBM/CL to get rif of. My favorite kind of scrounge.

I inquired about this in my home town. Thought of you.
They deleted it. HUGE red oak.
