I didn't get the cracker snaps ordered in time this year but we are making do with champagne poppers. I modified the champagne popper by hot-gluing the attached string to a 8.5" strip of card stock. I attached string to the opposite end and cut it so the entire length of the popper is now 10.5". I then attached card stock to the second string. I cut some wrapping paper roughly the size of standard printer paper. I also cut a cardboard tube (from wrapping paper) to the length of a tissue tube. Fish the popper through the tube and hot glue the card stock to the paper. Add a trinket and the traditional crown and bad joke. Stuff them into the tube. Roll up the paper, you can hot glue the edges for a clean look. Tie off with ribbon and add a name tag if desired. It takes two to work a cracker. Each person grabs and end and pulls. Charlie helped me with this one. This was my protoype, going to pick up some real ribbon to finish the one I made for the oldest. She is the one that will be making them for the rest of the family (but I've already got all the poppers hot glued and stringed up for her).
Not celebrating until Monday. The oldest is putting them together right now and will do mine once I go to work.
We had our Christmas this past Saturday. This was inside each cracker. Thought you would like to see it.
