I have a lead on a Homelite 650 Super & 750 saw. Condition is rough/not touched in 5 plus years, what would be a fair price for the pair? Thank you.
That group of saws is worth less than the $1000 he is asking. If you pull out the Super 650 and 750 you really have nothing left to flip to recoup your money. As the saws sit, you might get $30 each for the XL's, $40 -$50 for the 360's and $75 for the Jred 670. Even if you got $300 for the others, you would still have $700 in saws that are not running. There is a reason that ad has been up for a month. Good running 650's can be had in the $250 - $350 range (Supers may bring a bit more) and 750's will run $350 - $550. Of course there are always saws priced outside the range I provided, but if you are patient you can find them without breaking the bank. As I recall, there was a piece broken off the bottom of the 750's clutch cover.
I mentioned the broken 750 clutch cover piece to the seller, sounds like he doesn't want to split up the saws. He was offered $400 for the 750 and still has it. I'll check back with him later this month.
He should have taken the $400, who knows what you have under the crud or what you will need to put into it. These saws were not common when new and 30 years later parts are getting scarce.
