Mixed as much rock salt as I could get to go into solution with water added cheap dish soap(joy) bout half a bottle to about 2.5 gal.
This is the second time is used this this year first time was about 75% kill this time I'm hoping for %100.

The wild black raspberry thing seems to be toast after 1 hr the smaller weeds wilted up within a few minutes 20190728_124736.jpg

I’m fond of boiling water. Doesn’t leave any residue, either.

The problem with salt is that it doesn't degrade, will build up in the soil, and can impact future productivity. A DIY solution based on vinegar or bleach may cause less long term effects.

I’ve seen recipes call for vinegar, epsom salt, and a little dish soap. I haven’t actually tried it out, but I’d think it would be as effective without “salting the earth” long term effects.
I’m following thread as some good weed killer is handy and the harmful side effects of glycophosphate (round up) are being realized. I never liked that stuff.

I find that salt, vinegar even glyphosate et al are temporary solutions at best as the weeds just grow back or new seeds sprout. Same with a flame weeder, with the flame weeder potentially having the least damaging effect on the soil although in some places the use of propane and other not so renewable fuels may be or soon be banned . :MM:
