Got a HHO fill a month ago for $2.43 a gallon.
As of this morning same dealer delivering for $2.14 a gallon. If I had space in tank I'd get another fill.

I was at the Wareham, Ma Home Depot on Thursday the 3'rd and they had no pellets in stock.
I was at this same HD a week or so before Christmas and the had about 10 tons in stock.
Also before Christmas, across the street, Tractor Supply seemed to be low on stock as well.
Granted this a small store sample size. But.......
    Am I reading this wrong?
Are the big box retailers not keeping as many pellets in stock, or are they selling out fast?
With outside temps staying warm so far this season, and oil being cheap.....where are all the "overstocked" pellets? They have to be sitting somewhere. This is gonna hurt the MFG plants and the small retailers again.

This has the feeling of the 2012-2013 season when it was warm then turned much colder in Feb/March and there was a pellet shortage. Prices jumped up and have never really recovered since then. From ~$200 a ton to ~$300 a ton after. Yes there are deals around but not like before 2012.

What are you folks seeing for pellet stock at the retailers?

All the box stores, at least around me, are finally seeing lower stock. They were loaded up all this time. I'll be interested to see what they do at this point, get more in or just let it ride out. I would think with this warmish weather we've been having supplies haven't been depleted as quickly as other years.

Maybe Joe Bucks Pellets can chime in as to what he's seeing on his "boutique" end.

I just got back from HD and they look like they got 2 trailer loads of Green Supreme in along with a few ton of Chow , and Lowe's had about 30 ton of various stuff , they look to be selling down their stock .

No worries , man . We can find better stuff down here , but not always cost effective for me at least and both my stoves aren't pellet picky , just have to clean a bit more often , not a deal breaker .

The cartel in central and northern New England holds on to its prices dearly.

I went to Lowes today and the only pellets on the floor were Green Supreme for $5.19/bag. There wasn't any Greene Team to be seen anywhere.

    Unsure of future deliveries.

My Lowe's hasn't had any green teams all year and I'm signed up for alerts when green teams get delivered to my Lowe's and no alerts this year either.

The stores must figure that folks have their season's supply, and don't want to get stuck with inventory in a couple of months.

Some of us do. But there are some that dont have 2K to shell out at once nor do they have the area to store 4-6 ton and rely on picking up a ton at a time. Those are generally the people that rely on big box and may not even know about places like McMannus

Then again, those same box stores are probably already setting up the outdoor areas
