Hi, it's almost fall and almost pellet season again. I've been MIA since march. :D Who else? welcome back.

I bought 4 skids of lacretes last year, and due to the mild winter, still have ~2 left.

for the first time since 2008, i don't think i'm buying pellets this year.
    - oil is cheap
    - pellets are "expensive" and i have enough to help out on those really cold days.

I'll be idling the furnace this year more and using pellets to supplement, instead of idling the pellet stove and using the furnace to help out.

Most of us did when Lowes had em for $99 a ton. Between that and HD's $3.98/bag I stuff 4+ tons in. We should be good for almost 2 seasons.

No smoil option fur me. Too smold for firewood(except short bursts).

Same here. I have 3.6 ton of LaCrete left over and still slipping the coin on getting more or holding off.

Downside is my oil boiler is 22 years old and can go south at any point now. Sigh, its always something renting a home (My name may be on the deed but the bank owns it )

Non of those to be had around here. Local Lowes was scooped up by a reseller. Someone around here is selling pellets that were sold at Lowes for 99/ton.

Yeah, that is the way of my propane boiler and hot water heater - pre 1990 anyway (I don't remember exactly what year the plate says).

I haven't been around much myself. I've been visiting, just not much to say. I'm having a hard time accepting that summer is almost over.

I did see that two truckloads of Pro Pellets rolled into my usual supplier a couple weeks ago. $189.50/ton. Gotta get me two tons in the next week or so.

Not over yet, Sept 22 is the official last day of summer. Better get out and enjoy. I gotz no issues with fall. Cooler weather and fish usually put the feed bag on. What comes after isn't my fav. It starts out OK(middle stinks IMHO) and usually ends with getting the rig ready for spring. The start of fishing season.:D

I have been around creeping for the last week or two.

It's been a HOT summer, ready for some cooler temps.

I must be the only one that hates pro pellets?
