R4ight on! Instead of just enjoying everything going on around us or in this case helping a person in need ... it's "where my cell phone, where's my cell phone ... oh shoot! missed it ... too bad. Yup! too bad I just didn't enjoy the moment or in this case help my neighbor." It is indeed sad. We so easily become slaves to technology and can no longer function in healthy relationships with everyone and everything around us. Forgive me as I am just and old fool.

My phone is almost never with me. But it is still easy to get caught up in other things in a similar way.

We love to go to air shows for the military stuff-Blue Angels, Thunderbirds, jet fighters etc. Sometimes I purposely leave the good camera and lenses at home so I can watch the show instead of having to capture it through a viewfinder. On the flip side, I have some great shots of some of these shows.

I spend a lot of time sitting waiting for my medical appointment drive clients. I usually stay in my van listening to the radio and people watching. I have watched people walk into sign posts, lamp posts, the sides of parked cars, trip on curbs and walk into each other the whole time playing on their electronic sex toys. I call them that because that has got to be the only reason that they have to have something in their hands that occupies their undivided attentions so well. The scary part is that they then get in their vehicles and continue the hand gratification while ATTEMPTING to kill someone else on the road. As bobdog said, it is now a society of drones............................:hair::hair::hair:

    I've never taken a selfie.
I do look in the mirror occasionally though.

I read somewhere just recently, a guy stopped at a parking spot along some coastal area and was looking at his cel phone as he walked off a 60' cliff... no one can reach him on his phone anymore... :picard:
