Delivered a 1/4 cord of mulberry yesterday which emptied the rack. Had some fresher stuff waiting for a rack to open so here it went. Half cord rack now half full. Hard to come by around here and one of my favorite woods to scrounge.
I wish I had more mulberry in the stacks. I might have half a cord and that's stretching it. Only wood I stack with BL.
I think I like cutting, splitting and stacking mulberry more than actually burning it. Just a really nice looking wood. I remember thinking it seemed a bit slow to start up in my stove but a good BTU wood nonetheless. Nice work
BL goes all by itself as does mulberry. There was a 3-4 wheelbarrows of fresh bark on BL i scrounged with the MB back in the Summer. Have no stack for that as of now so alone it sits. Gets to be a PITA keeping the stuff sorted out.
It is hard to do because it is both time and space consuming. I hope you charged extra for it. I have only cut Mulberry once when dad had their old Mulberry taken down. It was great wood.
I did sell as an ambiance wood which it is with its rice krispies snap crackle and pop! Sold the first 1/4 cord a couple weeks ago and the guy was kinda overwhelmed by how much a quarter cord was. I have another half cord which i promised to a regular customer at a small premium thinking i wouldnt sell any of it. Only a quarter cord on hand so far for next year.
Mulberry is extremely heavy when cut green. Inch for inch its heavier than oak (when green) throws excellent heat when dry
You're right. It is a PITA keeping stuff sorted out. Im thinking of just stacking BL and mulberry together, then everything else.
