Found this pretty little kitty in my woodpile last weekend. Trying to make a pet out of him, but so far it is not going well. He keeps running around the house marking his territory. Named him "Chuckie". Chuckie no smell good...Chuckie tinky.
Hey Frank and Beans , uh....you know that's a skunk, right? Right? We had a male goat that we named Stinky.
One night, my two dogs found a skunk and played catch with it. The skunk was spraying them, and me in the middle trying to set it loose. I believe the skunk spray actually tasted worse than it smelled. Ahhh, memories......that I do not want to experience again.
Agreed. I had a Brittany (mostly white) hit point blank in the face. It was actually green, and that nasty oily stuff got in my mouth somehow too.
That was the weird thing- the spray is green and snotty consistency. Pretty gross. The second part of the story is my own mistake- not thinking clearly, I grabbed a dog by the collar to drag her into the utility room to give a tomato juice bath. On the way in, she slipped out of the collar; and high-tailed it right to my bed, jumped up on it and began vigorously rubbing all the skunk funk off of her and into my comforter. Once I re-collared her and got to washing her down with the tomato juice, she shook and splattered it all over the wall. So, why again did I not wash her off outside??? Hell if I know, but the dry cleaner wasn't happy taking that comforter and I got an "environmental" charge of double. As I said previously, memories.......that I never ever want to re-live again.
Well that would explain Chuckie's interesting aroma that has taken over the house. I have grown used to it. But come to think of it, everyone has been avoiding me at work lately.
When it marks it's territory, you need to mark over it. Hopefully it'll get the hint and find housing elsewhere.
I think you guys are WAY off on this skunk theory. Skunks are black with a white stripe. Chuckie is clearly white with a black stripe. Pretty sure he just a tinky kitty. Gonna try switching his diet to sardines and chicken liver. Maybe that'll help.
years ago I had a roommate whos dog would only get sprayed by a skunk when he was on vacation and we were taking care of him. Nothing worse!
