Became friends with owners of several hunting cabins near mine. The other weekend, one of them got a fuel wood permit and cut several pickup loads of standing dead oak to length for his cabin. Last weekend, another cabin owner lent him his wood splitter and I helped with the process. Glad to assist, they would do the same for me.
Since we are all in our 70’s, they decided to let the younger members of camp coming up this weekend for deer season the chore of carrying and stacking in woodshed. Seemed fair to me.
