Helped a long time friend today clear an area for a new garage...ash,cherry,maple n a little beech. Wish i took some pics of the area....what a tangled mess of grape vines...but i got wood..
Theres more wood there yet...mostly cherry n ash....the grand prize ..which will. be felled last cause he'll have to rent a man to lift to top it out...nice white oak thats over 100 ft tall n around 40"s at dbh.. Ill definetly have some pics for ya when we bring that down.....
I posted sometime back ....that i purchased them from Hancock,MD FFA Students...figured i couldnt beat the price of 300.00 ea. and being a FFA Student myself in high school...I like supporting them. Now the price went up to 375.00 only because building materials went up. I did some rough figuring for materials to build 2 more myself this spring...i came up with 225.00 ish a piece. For the space i have my stacks..there perfect
I'd be in for a couple at that price knowing what lumber costs are. The shipping might be prohibitive, though. Good show all around, bear!
bear 1998 very nice how you split and keep things neat. I keep a large green landscaping barrel with me when I split and put bark and junk in it to be dumped. Works well. I remember when you looked at and ordered those sheds and they are very nice. If you need more covered space here's a suggestion that I have done with my sheds... After sheds are empty from winter burning move shed on right more to the right leaving a bigger space between the two sheds. This space could be the same as original sheds or larger. You could then build a roof between the two using the original sheds for support. Add a base and you are all set for more covered storage.
Got an early start this mornin to cut a small load.... Half white oak n half cherry... Cant wait till this bemoth comes down...42" dbh..
Helping friends is the best, you end up becoming a hero for having the right equipment, know-how, and use for the wood. It's mutually beneficial. Nice job
