So I got this sharpener for cheap, now I’m trying to get everything adjusted correctly. B4ACFCF4-8396-47BC-9C0F-69BD27A16C83.jpeg 0A1DD0F7-01F4-4C82-9F16-A95BB37FAB5A.jpeg
I found the manual for a Stihl USG grinder, but the only adjustment is on the chain vise. A friend of mine has a bunch of rocked chains, and I would like to be able to grind them, rather than spend forever with a file.
    Thanks,
    Charles

Looks a bit like an early Stihl HOS grinder . It’s similar to the USG , but doesn’t have the adjustment for moving the chain holder forward ,or backwards .

Ok. It does have Stihl on it, but it’s red & white. 6F6D0495-8DC3-40A1-9390-6F8D94CBC6D0.jpeg

That grinder is fairly old . Maybe it was repainted? Measure the shaft that holds the wheels . If it’s 12 mm , HOS / USG wheels will work on it .

I found the wheel that was on it, it uses the same wheel as the HOS/USG grinders. I think it’s a HOS, as the only adjustment is on the top plate angle. image.jpg I am going to go get some new wheels ordered, I don’t think this one will do much sharpening...lol. Thanks everyone for the help.

I am assuming that you are going to use OE Stihl wheels , so ,One thing to be aware of with the Stihl wheels . They are thinner than ,say , tecomec type wheels . 105F6FC0-2CE6-4B3E-8692-408EEB729303.jpeg 6567CB4A-6F3B-4A2E-A40F-E1AF50F463A5.jpeg They don’t use the same round profile as other grinder wheels . If you don’t have the wheel profile gauge , the P/N is 5203 893 6307
