I need to replace the dome on a Darley siren. The main body diameter (just above the vertical slots) is 20 3/8".
Any thoughts on something close? Willing to pay for a usable whatever.
A 20" something would let me hand form the bottom to match.
I've been measuring everything I come across.
    Thanks everyone
    Keith

Thought about that but haven't seen anything yet that would look nice.
Looked at purchasing a tank end pressing but didn't get much help, not a OEM so even if they have one.....
Also thought about hydro forming one but don't know what size circles to start with. That and the risks associated.
Willing to pay a fair price for something.
Hopefully someone will measure up their junk and sell me something.

:picard: I hate to say it but that in all honesty is the first thing that popped into my mind.
Kids last week at school just used an IKEA salad bowl for a dome on their model Van DeGraff accelerator.

Into sirens " Screwloose " , that is an interesting hobby for sure. Saw some pictures and posts a while back but had forgotten about that.
If I think of anything I will pass it on.

:wacky:If it works it works. It’s not so bad lately but we had to get real crafty for a bit with the major parts shortages.

Does it need to be metal? Shape reminds me of planters for patio flowers I've seen.

Can you roll a cylinder that is tapered ( like a coffee cup shape) and then use something smaller diameter on top. End of a propane tank that might be smaller?
Giant funnel with a cap on the end. Just thinkin.

This has become a problem again for us trying to get parts for the racing side of things. It was really bad , then pretty good and now it seems every day that passes things harder to get = AGAIN.

I'd prefer metal as I need it to take paint well.

So I have spent a half hour looking at stainless bowls!
I'm thinking if I can find a round bottom 30 quart I'd be set.
    Thanks for the ideas!!
    Should have posted this sooner.

Bakery/kitchen suppliers should be able to hook you up online.

Is there a restaurant supply store close? Might be fun to see their reaction when you tell them what it’s for!
