First time poster, long time lurker. I found this site in March after being laid up from a tree climbing accident, but all good now. I have been cutting and burning for about 8 years and and truly love this hobby and all the gear, experiences, and great people I have met along the way. We heat entirely with wood, forced air oil for a backup. Usually burn 6-8 face cords of the good stuff and the rest is uglies and skid wood. Pacific Energy Super insert in the main level until it gets really cold, then we spend most of the winter downstairs where we have another Super freestanding pedestal stove. Last two winters we actually had both going at times to keep the house around 70-72.
I'll post some pictures of my stuff, since we all love pictures. Here is a couple to get started.
Great site btw. I've learned a lot from my fellow woodcutters, had some laughs, and came here to help keep my sanity when I could hardly move from the couch for a few months.
    Thanks fellow hoarders

Welcome Smoketr1973. Not much I can add. Yesterday I got in trouble for asking a lurker to participate more. He had a name that people thought I was using as an insult.

Be nice to those north of the border. We need them to open the door to let the cold air come south so we can burn all the wood we c/s/s during the year:rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody. I picked up the woodcarving from eBay. After some research and speaking with my local Stihl dealer I think that the carvings were given out to dealerships in the late 70's as a promo piece. If anyone has more info I would be happy to hear it.
This is what I will be working on today. image.jpeg
