The Equifax settlement deadline is tomorrow, Jan. 22 at end of day. If you haven't checked to see if you were one of the ones that got their information stolen, you may want to check. I was affected and I have filed for the credit monitoring services. The cash payout is at most $125.00 and may be less depending on the number of claims. The credit monitoring service will benefit me the most and it is for four years. Of course if you were affected by having credit cards and other services billed to you that you did not create, then you can file for compensation for monies lost.

Yes, I had forgotten about it as well. I think they said some 147 million accounts were stolen. I saw it in my news feed this morning and clicked on it. There was a report about the nightmare that a woman went through after her postbox was flooded with notices about credit cards and bills that she did not make; she had a whole stack of them. I decided that it would be smart to go ahead and get the free credit monitoring. I typed in my info and it came back that I was affected so I filed my claim.
