    Hello
P61a Burn Pot flame guide keeps getting pushed forward. I tried another flame guide but same problem?
What causes this? What is the fix?
    See pics below.

Looks like a lot of ash there that can lift the flame guide as well as soot on the firebrick. How is the overall airflow, gaskets, air holes in burnpot? Thats my first thoughts.

After that, is there an issue with the burn pot?

Based on my experience, the flame guide usually lifts from carbon accumulation in the burnpot. The new pellets coming in go vertical instead of horizontal, lifting the flame guide. If all owed to go to long, you'll erode the guide in the back and have to replace it, because it wont sit parallel to the back of the burnpot. I also seem to recall that a long time ago, Accentra F/S had an issue with lifting....there were two fixes.....
    1. Use the domed flame guide (off the top of my head is 3-00-03000)
    2. Harman actually made an add-on to hold the flame guide down, and I cant remember the part number....its been like 15 years.......sorry)

It happened on my Accentra for a couple of times many moons ago and all is well now, I'm sure choice of pellets was the cause. I had extra rope gasket so I stuff a piece to keep it from prying loose.

End of auger burned off?Or,perhaps it is older and the air tube kit would help.

Don't know the year Harman changed the burn pot hole drillings, perhaps you should get the latest one?

Actually, I am thinking of putting in an advance fluted burnpot to push the flame out more. It puts out more heat with less pellets according to my customer Kay. She has an old Harman Advance. I updated her pot and she was very pleased!

First I would give it a good cleaning including taking out the fire bricks and cleaning all the ash out from behind. I would also wire brush the slots in the guide. Then once it is going again, I wouldn't let it get so built up with ash. But that's just me - and may not solve the issue, but it's a cheap place to start.

    Hello
I just changed the Burn Pot in the P61a to a Harman Advance new Fluted design burn pot which really pushes the flame out away from the back wall to provide more heat with less pellets!!
As you can see in the last pic, the flame is out away from the back panel to provide more heat directly to the heat exchangers in the top of the stove!
Also changed the Dip Switches to Advance so the pellets would not over feed :)
    Looking good!!!

Don is that flame guide in the first post a Harman OEM part? It doesn’t look like the guide in my P-series stoves. It’s flat across the top like a table, mine are both arched. It doesn’t look like it’s sitting properly on top of the burnpot guides.

The old Harman Advance Wood Pellet Stoves made before 2004 did not have the air channel carved into the back plane of the burn pots. We did extensive testing on the new updated fluted burnpots in the Harman Advance and there is no question they save pellets and the heat is great!
Since I had one laying around and my P61a Burn Pot was like a baby pushing his hat off, I really had to do something. So I just tried the Advance Fluted Burn Pot and we had to turn the heat dial down from where the old burn pot was set to! I am shocked and amazed and very impressed but it was a good bet?

Yes, the only Flame Guides I have and know of are Harman OEM parts! The flat ones are for P61 & p68 the ones that curve up are for the Advance

Don’t you agree they should have an updated Fluted Burn Pot for the P61 and P68?
Maybe they do, I am not the Harman Stove Dealer expert. !!
