below are "old" and "new" burnpots for the Harman 52i. The newer one is the one which DOES NOT have ventilated sides in the throat of the pot. This one seems to cause the stove to ignite faster, and has the new igniter cradle inside. The new cradle makes it MUCH easier to drop the igniter our for cleaning or replacement. The new burnpot number is 1-00-574400. This is the OLD burnpot- note the ventilated lower area, near the auger. This burnpot also has the older "cradle-held" igniter bracket (not shown) This is a closeup of the newer model burnpot. Note the lack of ventilation holes down by the auger hole- (yea, I know its a bad pic!) here is a picture of the new igniter bracket inside the newer burnpot. The little lever on the right lifts up, the cover comes off, the igniter sits inside, and the cover goes back on, held on place by the latch....note there isn't an igniterin this picture!
New hole pattern all around the igniter. Interesting to see how that works out. How does the pattern of holes almost all the way to the lip work? Does it help in any way?
I don't know, Don......the P61a pots were never ventilated on the sides, so there's been no changing of those....yet. I am guessing eventually all the models with have to new bracket installed......
the igniter actually is the 5 holes you see....been like that awhile. The lowest holes are different, but I think that's a carbon deterrent feature...
