He used all his grandads tools and built it for his dad as a gift a couple of years ago. All the shingles are even hand cut.

That's awesome! Hard to gauge the size from the pics but it looks pretty big too. Any idea roughly how much it will hold?

You don't find craftsmanship like that to often anymore around here. There are many old barns around that were built that way. I'm always impressed in the skill and time it must have taken to build something like that. How did he attach the shingles with no nails?

    7m x 5m x 3m (height at top)

Probably around 15 cord packed tight.

EDIT- im guessing the height at the apex. It may actually be higher than 3m maybe closer to 4m.

He made the nails himself for the shingles which aren't suited for outdoors really and all the holes in the shed were drilled with a manual hand drill. It got hit by some wind and moved some of them but he wont go to the hardware store and buy real ones. He said he will fix it up when he gets time.

Dont see too many buildings like that any more, love the idea of making a firewood shed out of firewood.

I love the way that looks, a lot more natural looking than using cut boards. Fits well with the background too.
