Good size hackberry has fallen in our pasture. Guess I’ll be sweating bullets next week cutting it up

Not bad wood, just a bad time of year to process it. Ya gotta get it done quickly because the stuff gets mushy fast if left in logs on the ground. You will need one or two of these when you're finished.

Some good wood in that tree. Looks like you have shade to work on it which helps. Not a fan of the heat myself, but hey we're hoarders, :tree:we find a way! Post some after pics rebelduckman

I imagine wood seasons rather quickly down there. How much do you burn in a season? I dont often associate Mississippi with burning wood.
Ran out! Gotta get a hoardin' then. :tree: Dont make me come down there!

I burn about 2-3 cords a year but I don’t ever turn on a thermostat. Also I live in a old uninsulated house so I burn more. Wood does season fairly quick down here. I can usually burn fresh cut within 6 months unless it’s oak and that can take a year or more

No prob. I have a large oven. There’s nothing like warm buns after dinner.
