Got a few loads out of the woods today. Wife even joined the fun and found some hickory. It will be cut shorter and split for the upcoming bbq season. 346 was just nasty with the new 16" bar and a loop of stihl RS.

awesome, my friend. I gotta teach my wife how to run one of my saws.....I think she'd enjoy some cutting time in the woods like that.....
I, too, save the hickory for cooking on the firepit. I've also started chipping the smaller stuff up with my lathe for using in electric smokers. Works very well.

Little 170 would be the way to introduce her. Effective on the small stuff but not to intimidating.

I was REAL happy she spotted the little downed hickory!

I have three of those MS170's, two need P/C kits and the other one needs an ignition module.....I plan on building one for my youngest son, may end up keeping the other for her....

Nice work Hittin!! Looks like a great day with the wife! Mine loves the heat and will help when splitting or if some needs carried in the basement. But no saw work... Maybe one day :D

BTW- Did you run the new (to you) 254? Hope you like yours?

Steven on AS got the one I wish I would have bought. The seller wanted over $500 to begin with!!! They only sold for $499 new? He went down to $450, but I still couldn't pull the trigger. In hindsight, I wish I did. But you can't win them all.

Yep got to run the 254 it ran real nice for the first tank on a new piston......compression ended up being way lower than advertised so i put a new meteor in it this week.

Great idea with the 170 ! I posted some pics of what my new to me 180 can do ! They are a very capable saw..that have good power...but not crazy out of control power . Been teaching my girlfriends daughter to cut . I had to threaten to ground her ...just to get the saw back and out of her hands :)

Great pics you posted.....it was a great day In Ohio for this :)

The weather was not nearly as nice today. Was able to get a nice load of red oak and continue using the 346 and 254 .......

I think Dex's wife & my wife would get along fine. My wife won't use a chainsaw either. But then I don't use the washing machine.

Looks like great loads of firewood! My wife will work side by side with me all day and work hard but she won't touch a chainsaw either.
