The home owner decided to have this sugar maple felled because it was blocking his view (what a duck) but free wood is free wood so I ferried as much as I could handle with my poor mans pickup truck. IMG_20170513_145709.jpg IMG_20170514_191953.jpg IMG_20170514_193727.jpg

Glad I have a pickup-don't think my wife would appreciate me doing that to her car!

    I like your style sir!

I once hauled 3 cubic yards of sand to help build the radiant heat inside my home in the dead of winter using:

    (1) plastic children's sled
    (1) shovel
    (10) 5 gallon pails

It took a lot of trips to the towns sand pile, whose town leaders made it less convenient to grab unfrozen sand from by placing a gate a 1/4 mile away from the pit, but undeterred, I could haul 3 loaded 5 gallon pails of sand on the sled, load it into my Ford Focus, and drive home, but I did it. No dump truck needed.

    Nice

Showing signs of rotting in the center.
Is the whole tree to be removed?

Might have to split the trunk rounds to get it loaded :D

Great score, but it's unfortunate the tree had to come down...it looks like a magnificent tree

Good for you getting as much as you could. Difficult to understand those who think trees block their view. I've seen that same thing happen around here especially when people buy a new home. They quickly cut out the old trees....then plant new ones. Don't make much sense to me.
