Pp130 by pelpro. Unit seems to be fine so far. But we did have smoke spillage. Used duravent 3pvl horizontal install kit. There was some smoke coming out of the seams, mostly at the 90 elbow we had to use to put in corner and go out. Help! What should we do/ change at this point?

    Thanks-geri in Northern MI

Should of used silicone tape on joints.
If none available, aluminum foil tape works.

Maybe the smoke is coming from oil residue on the piping/stove!
It can only be the joints but newer stoves and piping could create some too!
Thanks for posting pics, they help on troubleshooting

We used high temp silicone around all the joints and seams of every connection. We did have about 15 min of good drafting! The seams still aren't that smoke tight and we think we still need to go vertical some more outside

Lol! We ended up smearing the high temp caulking all over those seams!

How much vertical height do you have?
    Exhaust on which side of house, E W S N ?
Tape installed after the goo or before?

ther only a short amount of pipe(1' only) going vertical inside. No other vertical. Installed on the west corner of home. Haven't used any tape yet.

We really got stuck installing in this corner..no other spots in the house to put one.

Also we have a soapstone hearthstone woodfire stove that was already here when we bought it. But decided to leave it there in case of power outages

Here's a pic of woodstove. She's tiny but cranks some heat. We have 1830 square feet home!

Congrats on the the new stove and nice to meet you:)
My stove required a minimum amount of vertical pipe, hopefully the extra lengths your hubby is getting will help. It would be a really good idea to find out what lift your stove requires, for your safety.

Look closely at where the T connects to the adapter. Doesn’t look like it’s in all the ways and interlocked

And the biggest culprit for leaks is where you secure the adapter itself to the stove. How did you install the adapter

We just noticed that! Hubby took left side panel off and sure enough some smoke was leaking from around the adapter!

He hts the adapter when he put it on and turn locked it. Also, it's now sealed with the high temp tape.

Not recommended, remove the caulk, before taping. Some WD40, and a fine-wire brush may help if needed.

+1 corkman , no where near being connected. Good catch!
    :coldone:

that Appliance Adapter <-> Service Tee connection should be corrected - before burning again.

Well he got about 9 feet of pipe going up outside and came in and used the high temp tape. Was a little smoke at start up.

Took side panel off and there was some smoke coming from where the adapter is on the stoves pipe.

Doesn't help that the thing looked like someone had dropped the pallet in transit somewhere....

People want more jobs in America and industry, but if the people that work there and in transportation cant even take care of the items all the way til customer receives them...

Longest time running yet as of right now and it sure is smelly...ugg
