This was the " limb wood" that my buddy saved me from his GF's house. I was told it would be 2 trailer loads. Well, why do it in two trips when I can do it in one? I had to put a number of rounds in the truck bed. Totally fine with me. Should be right at 1 cord. This is for winter of 2022/23. I had to cut a few cookies off of the couple of 18" long rounds, but most was 16-17". There were a few 3-4' logs, but much of it was good to go. Three biggest rounds were mostly 18-19" in diameter, but one was too big and I noodled it.
It is. All of it. It was eab killed, and you can see the tracks under the bark which hasn't even started to fall off yet. Now the 3 ash trees in my yard that are coming down on Friday are starting to lose the bark, and the branches are starting to get weak in places. Those trees are totally solid yet still, but with them being close enough to the house, they have to come down now. Some branches are starting to break in high winds, so it's time.

The truck lasts a lot longer that way. I've worn out trucks (before their time) by hauling firewood in them. Big loads. Over four decades of abusing them that way!
Nice lil score of ash. How much weight is the trailer rated to carry? If I load my bed and trailer to the max, I figure it's a cord.

I'll have to look, but it wasn't bottomed out. This trailer is beefier than the other one I used to use. Well, except the rear gate/ attachment. I'll need to fix that. It's got bigger tires than the other one and a heavier duty axle. The trailer is 4x8 and the wood is 3' high on the trailer. The wood I put in the bed of the truck was easily 4x8 x12" so that's how I got the cord figure.
I do. I'm burning some right now. I will say that I'll be looking for any other species as much as I can. Ash is great, but it's kind of vanilla/ boring.
Nice load , I rarely put wood in my truck either, I prefer the trailer. It holds more , doesn't beat up the truck and if I am lazy or don't have time when I get home after cutting I can just leave it on the trailer.
I'd gladly take that boring ash for all my firewood. Sadly I only have a few trees left the borers didn't eat.
Precisely what I did. Had to go on a walk with my wife. That trailer is still loaded unless the wood splitting hauling fairy unloaded split, and why not, stacked it for me.
