As some of you are aware, my canine son "BEAR" has been battling health issues for the past couple of months. He would have been 11 this coming October. He lost his battle this afternoon and was humanly euthanized by our vet. He had deteriorated to the point that he no longer had control of his hind legs, no able to stand, and was no longer able to get around. His quality of life dropped to pure hell the last 48 hours. It was with VERY heavy hearts, that after having a discussion with our vet by phone this morning, we elected to end his suffering. We will always remember him for his unique personality and his unwavering loyalty, and for his desire to give his "all" to protect his pack if the need arose.. I was there from the minute he was born, and I was with him this afternoon when he passed over the "Rainbow Bridge". R.I.P. ole' fella, we had a great run.......

Oh man, so sorry for your loss Rotti!

    We're here for you!

You obviously loved Bear very much, and you gave him the best life he could've had.

That reminds me of this story, of how a 6 year old boy explained why dogs don't live as long as people.
People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life – like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?”

The six-year-old continued, “Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don’t have to stay as long.”

    RIP Bear

This is so sad. My eyes teared up as I read the dreaded announcement. While we knew this was coming, we just don't want it to be now. I am so glad you and Bear had each other. Your Bear lived a full and happy life. You didn't allow him to suffer. Lucky him!
