But 1st: Need to clean up the rejects/firepit wood. Some were to long (cut before I started measuring rounds) some were punky, some were uglies. Then blow/clean the leaves, bark & chunks out Then repair/replace some pallets (getting rid of ankle twisting trip hazards ) Then put up a new sign, "2016/2017" so I remember what year it's to be burned 50° , cloudy & windy, good day to tinker in the shed. Just don't look right being totally empty
Got after it some today. pulled up the pallets Got out the leaf blower & cleaned up. Geo cloth down for a moisture & weed barrier. Gonna need to round up some decent pallets, but I made/repaired /spliced enough to be able to hold 2 rows & got rid of the wide slats & ankle twister holes. Hauled in a load so it don't look so empty
Your op sure does raise the bar for firewood hoardin'… awesome… btw, how long is that 2 mile long double stack anyway?
Today's wood stacking. Several trip 3-1/2 pallets from the long stack for one row, (just over a cord, back is only 6'-5" high) Stacking over 4' I put 2 ropes from the rear of the shed thru the stack, with plywood facing each row, to help hold it together in earthquakes. angled is to fill in over the angle brace, Font Rear, 1 full row + start of 2nd row, new label for 16/17 filled to the roof, this row is the shortest, , holds 1.1 cord
Animal Food Warehouse here in Palmer used to give away pallets. The last time I got some, they forklifted a bunch into my truck.
