A term used by jrider that should be in the FHC dictionary. Not too small, not too large, but just right. Under 16" diameter sugar maple. It gets heavy real fast. Drove by this last week while tree guys cutting. I stop and ask. Anything not chipped is free game. Went that way again and they were cutting more so i came back a couple hours later and cut a load. Room to park and work safely. No prickers or vines to contend with either. Not my usual heaping load but noticeably heavy when driving. Ill go back for at least another load soon.
Man you’ve really got a knack for stepping in it. Look at all those beautiful straight logs with no crotches! Before my locust mania affliction, I’d always go gaga over sugar maple. Heck, I still do
It definitely caught my attention last week as did the ease of access and parking. Made it a priority "get"! Ten minutes from home and 20 from storage.
Lot of sugar maple, there is a ton of maple syrup set ups around us. also a fair amount of red maple as well.
Or you could just go in with a small loader & dump & have it all home in under an hour. That's some primo stuff, nice grab Brad!
Well mother nature threw a wrench in my work schedule with a couple inches of snow overnight (none was forecasted for my area) so i opted to split the load. "cordage" quality splits to get stacked there. Nicer splits came back here for stacking. Now have room for the next load from the score. I really liked getting it processed right away. Thanks mother nature!
