My Daughter-in-law loves to place glass candles on top of a trivet on top of my Jotul F600. It melts all the wax in the candle. Should I be worried about a disaster taking place, hence, the glass breaking or shattering? Kinda freaks me out..Haha ps.. It does smell nice, I must admit...
Plenty of ideas to sift through here: Yankee candle on top of the wood stove???!!! I do it occasionally. Edit, that was originally your thread. Is it Groundhog Day?
I personally wouldnt do that. If you like the smell use a few drops of aromatic oil in a kettle of water on the stove.
I would at least have it in a cast iron pan in case the glass broke. I don't think it's such a good idea though. Unrelated; those candles in a jar can get quite hot on the bottom and certainly need a trivet or something (like a cast iron pan) even with just a lit wick.
