48 right now and it is supposed to hit the mid 50's. Won't need any heat today, especially with 25 people in the house but will need to fire up the boiler at the end of the day for hot water.

Right where I want to be.
Right about freezing, and we had less than an inch of snow overnight into this morning.
    I'd prefer temps between 15-20.
Much easier to heat w/o overheating.
Favorite part of winter is when the ice goes away. I guess that's called spring.

was too warm for the stove

So many people in the house yesterday and last night had to put the screens back in a couple of windows so we could cool the place off without letting Winter moths in.

I've got a spruce to slice and dice and it looks like from the online radar it should stop raining any minute, so I gotta sneak this third cup of coffee and piece of tiramasu I'm not supposed to be having and get a few passes on the saw cutters and get outside.

Yesterday got into the mid 50s and wife was cooking most of the day so no fire at all until this morning. Woke up and after 24 hours with no fire the house was still 65. Today should be windier so I'll probably build a fire later.

My new toy and an answer to your question. 20141225_112356.jpg it was 67 in the house when I got home last night so I lit a little fire.

Just above freezing,...some snow but not enough.

Give me a lot of snow and highs in the 20s and I'm a happy boy!

34*F here in northern Illinois. I love goose and pheasant hunting with snow on the ground.

I just wish the ground would freeze. Poor wife between me and the kids and the dogs were always muddy.

Dont have that option as it my only heat (35 years that way).
Been warm here lately but about to come to an end with the highs in single digits and lows around 0 or so.
Favorite part of winter is when its over.

It's 44 and rainy. I shifted some wood today to create some space, and generally took it very easy. My favorite part of winter is when the open water freezes over and we can do some skating. But it is always a party when we have snow (if we are lucky 2 days per year) and I take the kids out to go sleighing in a nearby park with some small hills.

I would love to live where you do. All my favorite show are there and my daddy was stationed there in the army.
