Got a message from an old classmate I haven't seen in 30 years... do I want this wood?... Yes. Dealt with the peice on the ground today, and one smaller tree. 4 pickup dump bed loads. One more solid load tomorrow, then wait for the tree service to put the rest on the ground for me. Used every bit of the 32 inch bar today. 30962.jpeg 20200821_201242.jpg 20200821_201309.jpg 20200822_132149.jpg 20200822_175935.jpg 20200822_200312.jpg

Nice score! Also good to see you have some shade to work in.

Lotsa good wood in that. Nice that you were able to cut to your specs too. I hate "tree service lengths"

Yup. I'm done lifting peices like that by hand. My back is still good, keeping it that way.

I have requested them to only do what has to be done, and chip brush under 2 inch. Tree service lengths go in my 55 gallon double drum, or my buddies boiler.

I imagine silver. Didn't really think about it, just started cutting. And loading. And cutting. And loading. 5 healthy loads of wood removed. We took one load of brush just to be nice, got a small pile of smalls that will take an hour or two sometime. I'll get pics of the other trees then. I'll be mixing maple in with my oak for sometime I reckon.

That’s great wood. I burn a lot of silver maple. I know it’s not oak - but it’s very valuable where I live.

I usually don't go more then a couple miles for wood- there is so much to be had around here once a few people notice you have a saw and a truck. This score is a 15 minute drive each way, which makes a nice break from the heat.

Fresh maple is certainly a joy to cut.

Yeah I thought I saw a silver maple leaf. It seasons quickly, and it burns great.

Nice score dwyleecoyote ! Silver Maple is great for quick heat & mixing in with more dense wood. I take it whenever I can!
