Opinions on saws pictured? I want it to drive a 20” and 24” bar and chain. And not too heavy

For the two bar lengths you referenced my vote would be the MS 400. Mine runs the 25” in hardwoods with nary a problem

The 362 would pull the 20" just fine but a 24" is the 400 territory.

You know, I decided to think about it for a little while. I’m pretty sure you boys are plum loco to spend that much money on a chainsaw! Just so you can hoard firewood. :loco:

I run an 18” on my MS362. It does ok with the 25” bar. I got my shop to trade me the 25” for a 28” bar. But I tend to run the G660 with the 28” bar. I’ve also got a 32” for it.

I got the 362 because it was in the budget I wanted of $1000 to include all chains, tools, spare bar etc.

My Echo CS680 ran my 24” bar no problem. But it needs a good chainsaw mechanic and some parts. So I think I’ll put that saw up for sale for a sweet deal to someone who likes to work on chainsaws. Not sure who does. ?

+1 for the ms400. Ms391’s suck…for the bar length you are looking to run, you don’t need the 462 or 500i.

:) I just buzzed through some White Pine logs. Wow, that was fun! Then I started trimming some White Ash trees that were sticking out of some burn piles. Clean things up and get some firewood for next season. Yeah! How long do you think it took me to see sparks by finding a rock?:picard:
