First off has anyone ordered anything from Left Coast Supply? I was referred to their website by friend because of the ridiculously cheap GB bars. Well last night I decided to order a bar solely because of the price. So here's my question. I've never owned a GB bar, but I know they make a great product. Is the GB Arbor Pro a good bar? I couldn't refuse due to the price. $11 for an 18" 3/8 .058 bar and chain combo!! Now I get to the checkout and shipping is $17! Ok for that price lets throw in a second bar/chain combo for $11 and see what thr shipping does. It only went up a buck! Ok, let's throw in (2) 3/8-7 rims for umm a $1.50 each! So my order totaled up to $43.57 for (2) 18" GB bars (2) 18" chains and (2) rim sprockets, shipped to my door. Sounds good to me considering Friday I spent $52 on a large mount 18" Husqvarna branded bar and chain.
The arbor pro has the replaceble sproket nose great sale price.I have 2 older gb bars that are laminated made in Australia for a couple Poulans. They are good bars no complaints hold up well better than the cheap oregon laminate thats stocked in box stores. Not sure where the new ones are made but not Australia anymore.
I was looking at LeftCoast supply as well . .I couldnt believe how low the prices . I think they are a good bar !
They ship from Calif UPS. My shipping for 3 bars and box was 3 foot long and bunch of rims was $19 all the way to Ohio,
You are correct. But for as cheap as the ones are that just say "Australia" which are made in China...they are still a great buy !
GB Ti and Pro bars have always been made in Oz, and are still made in Oz. 100%. Their other/lesser bars are made in China. I have several GB bars and I love them. The main difference between them and Stihl bars is that Stihl bars are more oval. I like the flatter GB bars for cutting with.
Thanks guys! I look forward to trying them out. If they do not hold up, well I'm only out $11 a piece. I'm sure they'll last me a while tho. I have several bars for my saws, but some of them are getting pretty rough. Two of them have had tips replaced already.
Orange NON- Ti ones China. Have arbor pro on them with replaceable tips. Bought 2 of them. 1 has black tip other orange tip. For the give away prices I dont give a rip either.
Yah, lots of bad info on this on the web, especially from Oz. They are peeved at us down under because GB bars are cheaper here than they are there. Boo hoo. Grande Dog at Left Coast Supply has a good price on them. I am stopping by LCS in Willits next time I an in California (I have good friends in Redwood Valley near there). From Michael Kennedy, Managing Director, GB Forestry Australia P/L: "Ti & ProTop bars have never been made anywhere else but Australia. Although the bearings are from Switzerland." Accordingly the specialty long bars, double ended bars, and harvester bars are also made in Oz. The lower end Arbor Pro and Arbor Tech series bars are made in China. Supposedly there is a large stock of GB detachable nose bars from China because of a falling out between Tom Beerens and Wang Wei Ming (owner of Qirui Tools). Tom Beerens is the B in GB... he moved to China a few years ago and now has a production line there of his own now that makes bars for GB. Just go to Left Coast Supply online store... They have the biggest selection and by far the best prices on GB bars. I just ordered 2 large mount Husky 18 inch Arbor Pro bar and chain combos... And a large mount 32" Titanium Pro bar.... For under $80 shipped to my house. How are you gonna beat that ? They are out of 20 inch bars for the large Huskys..... But until then ill be fine LOL I think they match the Husky and Stihl saw colors perfectly btw !
I've got bars on order from Left Coast... just haven't seen many places sell GB bars is why I ask. I'm trying to find where I read it but I believe Ariens outdoor equipment now owns the United States distributorship for GB forestry products? ~Nathan
Like HF said. Left Coast. Gregg is on my website if you need to talk to him in his store thread or PM. I did catch a listing wrong by mistake when I ask a question about it there.
Lol ! I guess i gotta see what these bigger saws are all about before i discount them !!! Dont worry... The big ones will collect more dust from the shelf than from cutting wood !
