I could have just as well titled this thread "Why you never elect environmental communists." I just found out our wonderful communist NDP government here in the province of Alberta is imposing a new tax on natural gas and gasoline in the new year. Its not too bad....ONLY 75% !!!!! Yes, you read that right 75% tax. Supposedly, theyre going to give some kind of a rebate to low and middle income families. Yeah....if you make $5 per year, you might see half of the increase back. Our previous conservative government has been in power for over 40 straight years and had become unbelievably corrupt. Nobody will deny that. In protest, some people voted for these idiots. Another conservative party had sprung up and had just enough popularity that the conservative vote was split and the commie enviro freaks drove right up the middle. Since then, the two conservative parties have merged, thank the lord. We will be forced to serve out the rest of the sentence though. Anothet year and a half of these idiots. Sadly, the damage and debt theyve already racked up will take half a generation to undo....and theyre not done killing us yet. At least I have 100% faith the conservatives will completely crush them in the next election. The moral of this story......never vote for a left leaning party !!!
This is about the carbon tax increase from 4.49¢ per liter to 6.67¢ per liter ? Should tax the rich to save the planet, like we do here. /sarc
The way they were talking on the news, this will be on top of the carbon tax. I was in the middle of doing something and caught as much of it as I could off the tv in the next room. Im sure it'll be all over the news over the next few days. Fortunately, I drive a company truck (mobile service tech for a heavy equipment company) that I get to take home. On top of that - the wood stove. This isnt going to hit me as much as it will most other people. One couple I know are already feeling the pinch in their business and this is going to hurt them a fair bit. Their two major expenses are gas to heat their warehouse and fuel for their trucks. I also know they voted for these idiots. I havent talked to him lately, but the wife has changed her tune about them completely. Oh well....live and learn. Too bad everybody has to suffer because a little more than 1/3 of voters didnt do any research.
