Well, I was a little amused this weekend with our friends commenting about how much firewood I have....
We had about 10 people over and it was kinda funny to hear people's reaction to the stacks. Heard lots of "do you think you have enough wood yet" comments. It was all in jest, but the funny thing is I think I need another 2 cord to cut this year! :)

All I had was these stacks and another cord and a half in another spot. Probably only 6 cords or so, not much compared to most here.

Anybody else get comments about your hoarding?

Or like my Dad would say, "too much is always enough"!

Friends don't let friends quit cutting!

Yes, I get constant chatter. With 2 young kids and a social butterfly for a wife, we entertain often. The thing is once all these people see your insanity, they feed into it will all these trees they want taken down. I'm probably average on here with about 15 cords c/s/s and another couple in the round.

    Only all the time.

Next you'll get people wanting you to either give it to them or sell it to them for stupid cheap.

"Got enough wood yet?" -> "Nope"

Many years ago I had an unprocessed log load taking up a good portion of my back yard when my wife had a friend over. She was conceptually unable to understand it. She just couldn't get it.

I have 10 cord in sight from when people are over and I get the same comments from people who do not visit often. My usual response is; I can keep my house at 72 deg all winter and it beats paying the oil man every month. After that I get a lot of silent nods.

It has been quite some time since anyone has commented on our wood piles. I think by now most know that we are always going to have wood stacked around. One asked a silly question and I countered with, "Would it look better to you if it were a bunch of fuel oil tanks or propane tanks sitting around?" End of that conversation.

Happens all the time! I have about 8 cords stacked in sight(typically some heaps too). When they ask if I have enough I tell them you're only seeing about half of it and NO. :axe:

We have a walking bike trail going through behind us and a lot of people have been taking their pics standing in front of the wood piles / back property fence. I find it to be funny because most of my neighbors think I am nuts yet strangers want pics of the 8th world wonder as the CIS Trail people call it jokingly...

The bulk of my store of firewood looks like this.

Last weekend we had friends over that we hadn't seen in a while, and one of them walked out on the deck to see the view, looked down over the edge, and couldn't stop laughing for about 2 minutes.

That is so cool! I would have laughed for a while too and then asked for a beer to take a good look at how
you pulled that unique storage space together... Very cool....:smoke:

Have those same folks come over in mid January and see if they appreciate a nice pile of firewood.

Thanks! Each of those four racks holds a bit over a cord. Right now there's almost another cord on top of the deck, and maybe half a face-cord in the garage behind the camera. Much more than that and I think some of my neighbors might slip from bemusement into irritation.
