I found a guy on marketplace who needed help cleaning up some dead trees and what not so I went out after work. I scored a tiny bit of apple, decent bit of cherry I’m going to get the rest of it tomorrow and I also believe I got a decent bit of locust please someone correct me if I’m wrong I’ll post better pictures of it tomorrow morning when I got back there.[IMG]

    Nice find. :salute:

Yes that looks like black locust in the mix. My favorite!

I’ve only had honey locust once before so this is nice Forsure! The guy had a whole big locust tree down but his buddy has dibs on it in the morning so I get the scraps of the locust when he’s done so in the mean time I’ll be grabbing the rest of the cherry that’s there but he had some old dried locust logs in a big pile he let me take so I made out pretty good.

That's a nice load. Dry locust is great, doesn't rot.

Go get it Gunnar!:salute: Tearing it up with those loads.

Be careful you don't catch locust mania though. Its an uncontrollable desire to hoard black locust with no cure or vaccine! :tree: :loco:  Very prevalent in Connecticut.

Thanks I been trying to get on the 3+ year plan plus my friends and coworkers found out about my new hobby so they’ve been buying a lot from me as well which is fine. I’m just putting up all the money for winter time when I barely work cause of my line of work. As for locust mania tho I think I might be safe as we don’t have very much around here at all just a bit of honey locust usually. Black locust is actually listed as an invasive here in Michigan

Funnily enough when I was done loading the black locust up the homeowner said between now and fall I can cut whatever trees are dead or leaning over so looks like I hit a jackpot

Just be careful cutting trees down if you don’t have a lot of experience cutting down trees live or dead definitely ask us questions
Personally I feel every tree weather thinning or taking down have to be approached differently they all react differently
