I was in New Liskeard checking out the KD pellet mill which used to make Industrial pellets. I picked up 5 bags for $5ea(would of bought more but basement is overwhelmed already) and they sell 1 ton totes for much less per ton under the name of A1 pellets. Got talking about rebadged pellets and was told they make it for McFeeters at TSC store and Walmart.ca under the name Woody pellets. They're a mix of softwood/hardwood. I will scan the UPC shortly. They stopped making Industrial pellets and are more into Residential now.
any of you Canadian burners ever heard of LacWood pellets? I'm going to VT next summer so I was searching for a place to buy some Vermont Pellets. I found a place near where I'm going to be and they also sell the Lac Wood. It's advertised as a softwood pellet.
BAN83 is burning them, says they're not as good as last year. I've burnt them too but the extra long pellets was bridging my hopper on the Accentra. Try a few since they're in your neighborhood.
waiting to see what Jay has to say about maker of those. I try to avoid really long pellets. I don't care for the sound of them snapping on their way to the burn pot. Those firesides I have been getting from HD are really short and seem to have no problems.
Based upon what Ivanhoe said about the LacWood I may skip those and load up as many Vermonts as I can.
I'm sure you will like them a lot. No matter how many other brands I try, I always end up going back to get more Vermonts.
