NORWAY maple & CHINESE chestnut made for an interesting combo at this score.

Old friend of mine had me over doing some work and offered these logs to me. Couple months old. Back right up, buck, section and load. Solid face cord. An hours work in the shade. IMG_5849.JPG IMG_5851.JPG IMG_5850.JPG IMG_5852.JPG IMG_5853.JPG IMG_5856.JPG
Some nice splits to come from these. Anyone know the drying time for CC? The general cordage CC splits will got for 2025-26. Bundle splits at least 12 months.

Nice Brad!!! Im not sure on the Chinese stuff but the Maple will dry, (Left out in the sun) and have a 12% to 15% moisture in a solid year at "YOUR house". The Maple I get in the blistering summer sun here I can burn in about +- a year if CSS. Now, (not harder wood). I've always followed the 3 year rule. Norway Maple will dry fast, if you see the bark starting to separate you'll be ready. I get plenty of that wood here, lots of fall blow overs in the sandy soil.

Chestnut seasons fairly quick, it's s lighter wood but still good burning. Similar to ash in seasoning characteristics. I'd say if CSS it's be good to go in a year or so

Doing that in the heat though has got to be Horrible! :dennis: I hate it! Our Humidity here has been 90%+ everyday and I KNOW it isn't any better at your place, I lived up there, I remember it well.... :headbang:

Doing Ok, I got through all of my Medical tests, nothing new but had to get them done! All good for another year! Colonoscopy, Endoscopy, (Liver biopsy) o_O All good, had some screwy enzyme liver blood work and after 3 tests later things came up fine, I have a small issue, but I have to "LOSE FAT" if you understand! ;)

Sounds like you should get out there and CSS a couple cords of wood. Maybe deliver a cord or two as well. And do it in a days time! :whistle:You'll be slim before you know it.

Yeah, it sounds good! But after 30 minutes, every joint in my upper body starts hurting, then I take Motrin, hence where a couple of my Intestinal issues started. :headbang: And because I drink Beer, the Doctor said don't mix Tylenol with beer!!! :drunk: BAD Juju for the Liver! I can't win... :picard: So, I guess I'm stuck with just Beer!

Sure are nice looking splits. Not as pretty as your favorite red oak. Lol
