Don't forget to pull out a good sized lump of "coal" from your fireplace or wood stove in time for it to cool so you can treat that special little smart mouth to a little scare. I have one that just turned 10 and he's in for a little treat in a few days with this gem.

    Merry Christmas

I have real coal nuggets ( probably Pennsylvania anthracite)
I find them now and then gardening.
Coal was used for heat here 60 years ago and there are escapees all over.

It was actually his aunt who did it as a joke. When he saw it he said with tears in his eyes "I didn't want a bucket of mud".

I gave my kids coal several yrs ago. My daughter was 6 at time. Her reply was "I dont understand I wasn't any worse this year than last"
