How do you guys clean your flex liner? I was going to grab a pellet brush from Amazon, but a few of the reviews stated that the flexible handle wasn't rigid enough to get the brush through the liner. Wondering if I would have the same issue. I have some ridged brush rods up north I use on my wood stove chimney. Wondering if those would be a better option. Also, 4" diameter on the liner?
I just got cleaning my flex liner with the lint eater and the rods are a little bendy, but they made it all the way to the bottom. If you have the ridged rods that would probably work better. Now I just have to fill the hopper and fire that sucker up.
Agree w/ PH....I'd use a Lint Eater or Soot Eater......having the brush spin while you feed it into the liner should do a much better job, IMO.
Same here, the gardus lint eater. The wands that come with it did not provide sufficient length, so I picked up the extension kit as well. Works perfectly.
OK, I have to add this....IF you get the Lint Eater (don't know about the soot eater), make sure you do NOT spin the drill in reverse while the brush is up in the liner.....it can unscrew easily and end-up stuck in there. Just keep turning the rod clock-wise even while pulling the brush out.
Thanks guys. Something like this? https://www.amazon.com/Deflecto-Dry...1_8?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=XE8SG9P8Q543RWQ329SH Let me know if you have others that you prefer.
This is the one I got. The adapter (bottom left corner of pic) goes into the pipe & can be hooked to a vacuum ......makes it so easy. The flex rod goes through it too, so vacuum and brush are all working at the same time. https://www.amazon.com/Gardus-RLE20...UTF8&qid=1476227606&sr=1-1&keywords=linteater
Hey guys I have rigid pipe for the pellet stove, but a flex liner for the wood stove. Would my soot eater work for wood too? Thanks and sorry for the detour on your thread.
