In another thread I inadvertantly found interest in micro pop so what is your favorite small scale bubbly sweet drink. My sweet treat is peach flavored Nehi.
Club soda with a shot of flavored water enhancer.................particular to strawberry/watermelon flavor.
Used to be addicted to Diet Pepsi. Then I came down with kidney stones. After passing those (closest a male will ever come to feeling what it is like to give birth), my Dr. asked what I drank? When I told him I was consuming 1+ cases of Pepsi a week he told me that ANY carmel-colored pop is the perfect receipt to develop kidney stones in a lot of people. Said clear pop like sprite or ginger ale was far better to avoid the problem.........................
A nurse friend swears "the Dew" is the worst offender. I only have maybe 2-3 D-C a week so I don't worry bout my frosty cold bubbly sweet treat too much.
The only type of pop I drink is regular Coke, and only with Jim Beam or Jack Daniels mixed in. I used to drink pop like it was water when I was younger, but I gave that up years ago. Vernors is good stuff. Used to drink that a lot when I was a kid. That was my grandma's favorite drink.
I went thru the kidney stone thing five years ago, my Dr. said drinking green tea and "Cokes" in general would cause a greater chance of future stones. I stopped drinking both items that day and have never had either since. My favorite drink now is "Propel" flavored vitamin water. I would drink anything to keep from having kidney stones again!
Coke in bottles, made with cane sugar, not high-fructose corn syrup. Fanta Orange, again with sugar in a glass bottle. Both we used to drink in the Congo, so good. Appletiser, from South Africa. Greg
Not an acquired taste, if you don't like it from the first sip your not likely to ever like it. It's got a cult like following. Some say it tastes like cough syrup. There is a weekend festival centered around the drink in Lisbon every year. Touted as Americas first carbonated beverage. Good stuff, I'm a lover.
I don't drink much pop, but this is hands down the best ginger ale I've ever had. Got it at Menard's of all places.
My wife really likes me, I can take it or leave it, cherry flavor pop basically. I prefer the peach Nehi or Vernors myself...
I had hankering for an IBC Cream soda earlier in the summer. Rarely if every do I drink soda, for you guys with the kidney stones drink Cranberry juice - goes well with Vodka Someone from NC/SC will come along and post Cheerwine clemsonfor mattjm1017 - not something I'd hanker for...then again being from Maine a Moxie is kind of refreshing.
sorry brenndatomu Your picture didn't load as I was posting - we can agree Cheerwine is for eccentric folks
Once in a while my ash. That's the best one ever made. Been years since I've seen it in a glass bottle. They used to have it in 2 liter here, maybe still do, but it just isn't the same, the carbonation isn't there.
I might have 1 Coke every couple weeks. I used to drink Mt Dew several times a week, but now it's hard for me to drink any soda, it tastes too sweet for me anymore.
