Just wondering if any body has issues trying to have one of there fiskars products warranted? My Uncle tried mine out at deer camp and loved it enough to buy his own. The only thing is he has expressed concern over the handle and if it brakes having it replaced. I've told him that ive abused mine with no issues and so has my 6'4'' giant of a brother in-law. If neither of us have broken ours, he should be good to go. But he has read on the net of issues. So what say you firewood burning men, have any of you had issues??

Yes cracked the handle just below the head on the day I got the x27, contacted Fiskars, and had a new one in a week, that one is going on 2 years and 20 cords.

Same here the head snapped clean off the first one and they sent out the replacement no questions. It arrived 5 days later.

Thanks guys, I was worried. But now I can show him your responses and put him at ease a little.

I know that some say that the edge chips after a few splits, but I've had mine for two years and split several cords and the edge has never showed any damage at all. I did buy the sharpener as well and it does a pretty good job keeping it sharp.
As far as the handle, I've over-shot several times and the handle still isn't cracked at all. A lot better than my 6# fiberglass handle maul that cracked after a couple years.

Anybody have the contact info for getting one warranted. I just so happen to know where a broken one is I could likely get for free. Any proof of purchase or other documentation needed?

An email to fiskars with a pic of the broken tool is all you will need and they will ship you a new one. Had to do it on a fiskars all metal shovel. Weld finally gave out after years of abuse. No questions asked and the new one showed up quickly.

I've overstruck so badly that my fingers tingled. No problems with the handle.

Fiskars warrantied a cutting edge on a set of gear loppers I use in my orchard. In one week I use this more than a normal person would in a lifetime. Actually I wrecked it cutting dead wood rather than live green wood when the edge rolled over. Fiskars replaced free of charge.
