There is a local guy that has a Honey Bear for sale. Pedestal, brass door with glass. Very good condition.

1...I love my baby bear...but really want to see the flames...does the honey bear perform as good as the baby bear?

    2...He is asking $550. I am thinking 300 max....thoughts?

2 questions here shack, are you going to use it? and how much space do you want to heat? The Honey bear is a very cute little stove, it was made for mobile homes and smaller areas. It also had the glass door for the ambiance which is nice. Again, it's all what you want to do with it but it's not going to be the "best" heat source in the Fisher line up. Your baby bear is = to + the Honey bear. My opinion... Forgot to mention, the Honey bear will heat up to about 1250 sqft or so, as my memory serves the baby is about the same +-.

How bad do you want it? If your intentions is full use all winter I would wave $400.00 Max and walk away. He may not get $550.00 but being it's a Honey bear he may get close. I would bait him with 4 and say thats all I can afford, They usually bite! ;)

Hey WD...been a while since I been on. Yes, I would use it instead of the baby bear to heat my place...the baby bear was justttt rightttt.

I really like the Glass!...Not sure I like it $400 worth though.

Being that it was made for mobil homes does it require outside air pipe ... I don't have that and would hate to put one in.

    Thanks.

No, it is no different. The pedestal was to assist in weight distribution, height and space. The glass is a nice feature but I wouldn't want to replace it, "just remember that". My opinion, I would stick with the Baby unless you have to have it.
My thought here is: If it isn't broke, don't fix it! ;)

I don't think that is a requirement to use it...could be wrong...

Any stove without an air wash that I've seen, the glass stays so black you won't be able to see through it. I assume no air wash on this one.

Well the baby bear...it ain't broke...but I have a thing for seeing the flames... but I don't like to spend money for the heck of it since it takes longer to make it than it does to spend it!!! Plus I am somewhere between Cheep and Frugal. :makeitrain"

Going to wait the guy out a bit and see if he is willing to part with it cheap...then maybe.

    ...thanks for the input!!!

WD...just re read your one point...probably no air wash on any Fisher (Coaly may prove me wrong though). Not worth it if I can't see the fire. :(
