Did an interesting job today. This 20 year old 12’ x 20’ shed had a decent section under it (about 8’ x 12’ x 2’ deep) that had settled. Basically a big bowl, so the 4x4 runners were floating in the air in that side. Shed was too big to feasibly or cost effectively move. I brought in 8 yards of crushed gravel and rented a Toro Dingo to move the gravel around. It was tight area and the mini worked real good. First time using one, now I’m dreaming of owning one and am researching different brands and attachments.

I looked at one of those at the equipment rental yard when I was picking up a trailer. I heard they are way more capable than you might think. Nice to hear some supporting evidence. The results look terrific!

How much can that thing lift? Looks like a pretty good load in that bucket.

Most mini skids have a lift capacity of around 1000 pounds.

This one has a rated capacity of 535 I think. It’s a Toro TX 42 wide track, and a tipping capacity of 1,500 lbs. Sone newer ones I saw had much higher lift capacities, and can lift higher. This one dumps up to 46” high. I’d guess the bucket is around 8 cubic feet. So a heaped bucket of gravel is around 800-900 lbs. Definitely can feel light in the rear if you push the throttle too hard or are in a hill. The machine is heavier than you’d think with all the counterweight. This one weighs 1990 lbs. On flat ground and going a safe pace it’s very steady. I got used to the machines nuances pretty quick. The maneuverability , tight turning radius, and minimal ground impact were all pretty sweet

Nice job! I rented a Scag Jackal in the Spring to move some top soil. It was a fun machine! Glad you got out there and had some fun.

I used one a few years ago to fill my French drains with the gravel. Was super mobile and didn’t tear the yard up, plus we were able to pick it up with my 16 foot trailer and tow it with our Tahoe. Saving a pickup and delivery fee was one of the nicest features of using a mini. The one I rented was a bobcat brand.
