Took the Kubota into the woods for the first time. I've never skidded trees out before and it was fun!

Did you have the leading end up on something to prevent catching.....or taking on dirt?

Yes, chained and hooked to the spreader bar. I had more pics, but I keep getting an error message when loading them

Very cool. Why didn't you top/limb the trees? Just curious.

I think I have also seen some affix something to the skidding end of the log so that it doesn't gouge the ground and skids better. But, just something else to worry with, it might not really matter, depending on your ground! The commercial skidder dudes I have seen certainly don't affix anything. But... it can mess up a groomed trail.

Ya know BuZZsaw BRAD is not out cutting on theis rainy day when there are four new threads started by he, and he answers alerts within minutes of them going up.

'Course neither am I; indoor trim work today, prepping for colonoscopy in an hour. Its been a blast so far.

The butts are up in the air so not dragging. I have a spot I skid them too and limb them do all the brush is in one spot, and then onto the woodyard. Dragging the tops grooms your trails nicely!
