I did get out to do some splitting of wood and cutting off some of the long blocks but did not last long. Temperature is not too bad yet but extremely humid and not much air stirring. So, although I did not get much done, some got done. I do not expect to get much done in the next week because of the heat and humidity. If we have to, we'll wait until fall to get the heavy work done.

That is one of the nicest things about being ahead on the wood. I don't have to cut or split or stack wood in this weather.

July is hitting like a locomotive. I wonder what the next 3 months will bring.

Definitely take it easy in the heat. I mowed the yard yesterday.....just the part right in front of the house (only about 1000 sq ft) and was perspiring (AKA, sweating profusely) by the time I came in the house.
Forecast for today was 83.......yesterday. Checked this morning and it had gone up to 87. Rain on the way, and I noticed the humidity rising too.
I stuck the AC in the window this morning before it hit 70 OAT. Should keep the temp in here somewhat comfy.

I’ll take a small generator and fan with me if it’s too hot. Smart thing to do is to wait till it’s cooler.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Wait until cooler weather.

National Weather Service and The Old Farmers Almanac are both predicting Summer weather for the next two months.

First hot Summer day was yesterday here. I was glad to finish the roof job i was working on even though it was torture to work in. I lucked out as prior days were dry and cooler. Some shade early and full shade later afternoon. I used to start real early, leave during the hottest part and come back later. Never could take heat and humidity. Kept thinking of snow:shiver: to cool me off!

My processing area is in the shade and i have mostly stacking to work on. Some logs to split and noodle, but those can wait. No wood today though.

Stay cool and hydrated my fellow hoarders!:dennis:

Heat AND humidity together are a real bear. The humidity short circuits your bodies ability to cool itself with sweat as it won't evaporate effectively. Drink lots of your favorite beverage and watch the world go by from the shade of your porch!

Add a pop canopy and Fire Flake is all over it.
Of course the last time she did that, it was because I had 3-4 loads needing split laying in the middle of her grass mowing area in the backyard.

Yup. I have wood to cut and split, but not motivated with the summer temps/humidity here.

If there's a cooling morning, I might get out and do some hand splitting for a couple of hours.

I do still scrounge, as the opportunity presents. But, only to collect "inventory", to be processed at my convenience.

I've been hand splitting in the last hour before sunset. I get hot and tired and mosquitos eventually do me in. I head in for a big bowl of blackberry sherbert.
    I certainly burn some calories.

I resorted to the old standby.......me, and the gas powered push mower.
If I'd had the tractor, the whole dang yard woulda' got done.
I hope you haven't run outta' popcorn. Here....have some of mine....:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:
I may call 'em tomorrow, but it's supposed to rain, and we're headed downstate Saturday, so not much point to it. :headbang:
