Well now that I got your attention……..I did not burn the entire tree. Our county conservation district has a record of biggest trees by species in the county. The biggest Hackberry happens to be a street tree in the small town right in front of the auto parts store where my partner works. A huge dead limb fell off and landed in the parking lot. Knowing I’m a scrounger, she brought it home for the insert. First Hackberry I ever burnt and I have no complaints.
Measurement for the tree taken 20 years ago are 145” circumference, 80’ tall and 73.5’ crown width. Picture attached.

Nice looking tree. From this vantage point I'd have sworn that was an elm based on the shape. I've heard that they made decent middle of the road firewood. Around here I've only found a few, all too small to be firewood worthy.
